Caesar cipher
A Caesar cipher moves every letter by the same number of places. When you pass Z, you start again at A.
See a simple example
With a move of three, WORLD becomes ZRUOG. To decode it, move each letter back by three: Z to W, R to O, U to R, O to L and G to D.
Try it step by step
Try each likely move and read the whole message. Do not stop when one word looks right. Spaces and full stops usually stay in place, so word shapes can help.
Watch out for these mistakes
It is easy to move in the wrong direction or forget to start again after A or Z. A single word can also fool you, so always check the full message.
